Po broju i kvaliteti Jakobovih kapica posebno je poznat sjeverni Jadran, a uz tu \u0161koljku ve\u017ee se i nekoliko zanimljivosti. Naime, Jakobova kapica mo\u017ee plivati kad naglim otvaranjem i zatvaranjem lju\u0161ture stvori potisak, no \u010dini se da kako to ipak nije bilo dovoljno da otpliva daleko jer se smatra endemskom vrstom Sredozemnog mora, \u0161to bi zna\u010dilo da \u017eivi samo u Sredozemlju. Uglavnom naraste do 15 cm, a lju\u0161ture su joj razli\u010dite. Gornja je crvenkasta i ravna, a donja zakrivljena, svjetlija i vrlo lijepa, zbog \u010dega se \u010desto pojavljuje kao simbol ili ukras u mediteranskoj kulturi. Jedan od najpoznatijih simbola iz \u017eivotinjskog svijeta vjerojatno je postala kada ju je za svoj logotip uzela \u2013 ni manje ni vi\u0161e \u2013 nego naftna kompanija Shell.<\/p>\n<p><b>Dio ukusnog miksa najboljih morskih plodova<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Zbog svoje impozantnosti i ukusnoga mesnatog \u010depa koji skriva lijepa lju\u0161tura, vrlo se \u010desto jede sama, kao glavna zvijezda jela, tek blago za\u010dinjena maslinovim uljem, per\u0161inom i \u010de\u0161njakom, a radi dodatne meko\u0107e mesa \u2013 i kapljicom konjaka.  No, u na\u0161em restoranu odlu\u010dili smo ih poslu\u017eiti na malo druk\u010diji na\u010din te ih dodati u miks najsvje\u017eijih morskih plodova koje mariniramo u sokovima citrusa i predstavljamo kao na\u0161 lokalni ceviche, odnosno tradicionalno jelo koje potje\u010de iz ju\u017ene Amerike, a kojem smo dodali i neke lokalne namirnice. Uz Jakobovu kapicu, u na\u0161em se cevicheu nalazi i tuna, meso \u0161kampa te Gillardeau kamenica. Me\u0111utim, to nikako nije sve \u0161to je u tom jelu zamislio na\u0161 chef.
