Mediterranean cheese feast
“Every village has its feast, every village has its day,” sang now departed Tomislav Ivčić, one of the most beloved and the finest tuned voices Croatia ever knew. His words were true then as they are now because, as the lyrics say, everyone loves a good feast accompanied by singing all day long. That’s why every town and village on our coast, no matter how small, celebrates its day, usually dedicated to its patron saint or the food it is known for and adored by the locals.
Cheese, wine, and olives
In Dalmatia, it’s hard to imagine the party without a good song, a tasty drink, and something sweet for the tooth. A slice of quality cheese with an olive or two and a glass of wine is simply a must-have for a party that aims for a jolly atmosphere of a gathering of family and friends. And could it be any different when the combination of these ingredients simply calls for the sensation of natural herbs from the Dalmatian hills where the animals that gave us the milk for the high-quality cheese have feasted? Since we make every occasion from christening to wedding into a party, it’s safe to say there’s no party without a cheese platter with olives and slices of prosciutto scattered around. But this is not the only reason we adore cheese – as a great source of protein and calcium, its health benefits are abundant.
Just make it cheesy
At our restaurant, there is a true Mediterranean feast almost every day. And it’s not only our local cheese that is invited. Our dishes are great hosts to all kinds of cheese types: burrata makes for a perfect starter, Grana Padano suits best to the fettuccine with seafood and beef tail risotto, and Parmigiano Reggiano is excellent as ice cream on top of the seafood risotto. And don’t think you’ll have it any other way because we know that Parmigiano and Grana Padano are nothing more than false friends. They may look the same, but they differ in everything, from the regions they originate from and types of pasture to the taste itself. And we don’t mess with the taste! But those aren’t the only cheeses attending our party since cream cheese perfectly accompanies delicious Premium Maki rolls, Dragon rolls, Mango rolls, and Philadelphia rolls. Therefore, it would be a sin to leave the restaurant without trying these exotic combinations!
If you need more convincing to attend our Mediterranean feast, book a table and taste it for yourself!
