But there are many more adjectives to describe this versatile inhabitant of great oceans that can also be found in the Adriatic Sea: delicious, highly nutritive and versatile as it can be prepared in so many ways.
Tasty, healthy and non-fattening
Tuna is a great source of all vitamins – including B-complex – minerals and omega-3 fatty acids. It’s best eaten fresh and in addition to being very healthy, it’s low in calories which makes it excellent for those concerned with their weight. It positively affects heart and blood vessels and sportsmen in particular will find it very useful. Therefore, if you’re an active professional, this is the meal for you! However, it has to be fresh. You’ll know fresh tuna by its smell and beige to pinkish meat with hints of dark red. It must be stored in an ice-filled bucket and it should be rinsed and dried with a paper towel prior to cooking.
